Service Description

Explore the translation of human emotion through expression using clay in this beginning level course. Guided by local artist Summer Strother, you will learn fundamental clay hand building techniques along with structural consideration while learning to construct the human face. Participants will use clay to create a wall relief of a face. Mounting options, embellishments, and glaze finishes will be discussed. Participants will return at their convenience within 30 days to glaze their sculptures. Clay, tools, glazing, and firing are all included. Best suited for ages 13+ . Class will meet on Saturday, January 14 from 2-4 pm.
